My name is Rick Ciotti, and I started “The Paint Spot” in 2004 when it became obvious there was a “lack” of people selling materials in our industry who actually knew our industry. Our mission was and still is to “change the world one body shop at a time.”
Since I have actual hands-on experience in the body and paint business, which began in 1979, I figured it was about time the BS stopped and the truth began. To assist me in getting my message out, I began “The Paint Spot Newsletter” in June 2010. Up until that time it was just me, one shop at a time, dispelling falsehoods, and proving the point by actually putting my money where my mouth was. That earned a lot of respect from painters and body men as well as shop owners. It also earned me the phrase “Whatever It Takes.” That’s our motto to this day. I say “earned” because that’s what the guys in the trenches would say when I grabbed a paint gun or a sanding block and got down and dirty.
As time went by, I hired employees, started a second location, and we grew, never losing sight of the goal. Everyone at The Paint Spot practices what I preach “Whatever It Takes” for the customer, “dollar be damned!” Because not everyone at The Paint Spot has the hands-on background I have, we achieve consistency by simply initiating a “Q&A” session with each and every one of our customers. This ensures them of never being sold something they don’t need. To my knowledge, I am the only one in the business that does this. If you don’t know the business, you can’t know the questions, and if you don’t know the questions, you can’t get the answers!
Coupled with the fact that via “SLIX,” a shop I started in 1996 and gave to my son several years ago, we use EVERYTHING we sell at The Paint Spot. If anything does not meet our criteria, it is not stocked and not sold at The Paint Spot, no matter how much potential profit might be involved!
I am also quite involved in the “custom world” and sponsor many events and educational classes throughout the year. These classes are so extensive and so “hands-on”, that most people walk away fully able to start their own business…and many have! So, if you’re looking for affordable products, and the guarantee of the job coming out right the first time, every time, put The Paint Spot to the test.
To keep up on “How to’s”, “new products”, “industry variables” and how to contain them, “material differences”, exposing “product deception”, and separating “fact from fiction”, subscribe to The Paint Spot Newsletter.
